Sing Anyway

In singing choral music
much practice is not tuned
we miss our notes, we sing off key: 
real music is a rune.

We find it maybe 10%
of all the time we sing
but in the singing we commit
to bring our everything;

and everything we have to bring
does not always magic make
but for that music we come back
despite 90% mistake.

If I apply this knowing to
each moment of my life - 
my love, my work, my solitude,
Time as poetess or wife,

Then all this life’s a song,
a prayer, a poem & a dance;
in performing as a practice,
we give magic a chance.
